Weight Watchers

The 4th of July... Well, it's no reason really to pig out, but I used it as one. I ramped up my food intake with the excuse "I'll just start again after the 4th", which turned into "I'll just start again after D&D on Sunday", which turned into "This just isn't working"... I am back up to 296.2 pounds and still eating what I want, when I want.

So, tonight, I went to my first Weight Watcher's meeting and ended up leaving 2 hours later having signed up for a monthly pass. I can't believe they had me spilling my guts within 3 minutes of starting the meeting. I even shed a tear or two. I think I'm going to do a whole lot better with a plan and a lot of support from strangers. Tomorrow, I work at the Lab, so I'm going to spend the whole day reading my new WW books and planning a week's worth of meals and snacks so I can shop tomorrow night and start on Thursday. I'm going to try to pick foods that Chloe and John will eat, because starting this minute, I'm never cooking TWO meals again. What I eat, they eat or they don't eat at all. ha. How's that!?

I was by far the fattest one in the meeting, but I didn't really feel self conscious, maybe because they are all there for the same reason and some of them may have come from where I am right now. I was surprised that I felt comfortable at all, but I did. Hopefully that's a sign of good things to come. Maybe I'll even make a few friends? Maybe. I think I'm going to start with the flex plan and that gives me 35 points a day. I'll keep you posted.

PS - you need to update your blog, woman. :P

I'll go do that ----- soon!!

I know you will like WW. I love it. Hi I'm Cathy and I'm fat...but really, it works, it's very doable, and I have never ever felt deprived while I'm on it. I do really good on it when I do it, it's that whole sticking with it for the long haul that I have trouble with. Why? I don't know.

And you may have been the biggest gal there, but, who knows where the rest of your group started. I remember one time I saw this lady at a meeting and thought "What is that tiny thing doing here?" Well, that day, she was getting her lifetime after losing over 100 pounds. You just never know...!!
